Naruto: the ninja who never gives up
Naruto Uzumaki is the protagonist of Masashi Kishimoto’s eponymous manga, published in Weekly Shōnen Jump between 1999 and 2014. Born in Konoha as the vessel of the Nine-Tailed Fox, Naruto grew up ostracized by the village before earning their recognition through determination, hard work, and the famous “ninja way” he never abandons no matter the hardships.
His running style with arms back — adopted by the entire ninja village in the manga — became one of the most iconic visual references in anime culture, with millions of recreations online known as the “Naruto run.” In 2019, the term went massively viral when a joke event was organized to “storm” Area 51 by running Naruto-style.
His most famous combat technique, the Kage Bunshin no Jutsu (Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu), allows him to create physical copies of himself in battle. Together with the Rasengan and Sage Mode, these are the techniques that define his fighting style throughout the series.
Naruto is one of the best-selling manga and anime franchises in history, with over 250 million copies in circulation. Naruto Uzumaki is its symbol and one of the most beloved shōnen protagonists of all time.
